Latin America’s largest investment bank, (BPAC11 ) BTG Pactual, made history in 2019 by becoming the first major financial institution to launch its own security token offering (STO). The project, known as ReitBZ, was designed to use blockchain technology to democratize access to the Brazilian real estate market.

Unlike the theoretical projects that dominated the era, ReitBZ was a live, functioning product. It successfully raised capital to invest in a portfolio of distressed real estate assets in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

Mynt: La plateforme de trading crypto

The bank launched Mynt, a dedicated platform allowing retail and institutional clients to trade cryptocurrencies directly through their banking app. This move integrated digital assets into the daily financial lives of their massive client base.

BTG Dol: Un stablecoin émis par la banque

Moving beyond reliance on third-party stablecoins (like the Gemini Dollar used in the initial ReitBZ pilot), the bank launched BTG Dol. This dollar-pegged stablecoin is backed 1:1 by strict custody of U.S. dollars, providing a trusted bridge between the traditional financial system and the crypto economy.

BTG Pactual continues to lead the convergence of traditional finance (TradFi) and decentralized finance (DeFi).

Partenariat Valour (2025): The bank served as a key partner in bringing Valour, a subsidiary of DeFi Technologies (DEFT ), to the Brazilian stock exchange (B3). This collaboration introduced regulated Exchange Traded Products (ETPs) for digital assets to the local market.
