Polkadot añade soporte para Tether en su blockchain

Tether publicó un anuncio en Twitter diciendo que su token USDT ya está activo en Polkadot. Polkadot, por su parte, hizo su propio anuncio indicando que Tether ahora podrá ofrecer a los usuarios ingresar a su red utilizando una moneda estable, y mover fondos de manera fluida y sin temor a perder el valor de los tokens durante las transacciones.

Además, el CTO de Tether, Paolo Ardoino, comentó sobre la medida diciendo que Polkadot está en una trayectoria de crecimiento y evolución en 2022. Él y su equipo creen que la incorporación de Tether a la red de Polkadot será esencial para ayudar y fomentar esa evolución.

Tether ve el lanzamiento oficial en Polkadot

Tether publicó un anuncio más detallado sobre la nueva medida en su sitio web, explicando que Polkadot era una elección obvia gracias a que es un ecosistema Web3 de pila completa, construido para el futuro multichain. Web3 está en auge, y es perseguido por la mayoría de las plataformas que soportan contratos inteligentes, pero nadie ha logrado avanzar tanto con él como Polkadot, que es un verdadero entorno de aplicaciones multi-chain.

En su ecosistema, actividades como el cómputo cross-chain y los registros no solo son posibles, sino también muy fáciles de ejecutar. Además, el proyecto facilita que blockchains independientes intercambien transacciones e información de manera sin confianza y segura mediante el uso de la Polkadot Relay Chain. Eso hace que sea fácil crear y conectar diversas dApps, servicios e incluso instituciones a gran escala.

Polkadot’s users will be able to access a whole new range of benefits thanks to Tether, according to Ardoino, including liquidity, stability, and trust that the stablecoin enjoys throughout the crypto industry. As for Tether itself, the launch on Polkadot highlights its “dedication to pioneering collaboration and interoperability within the growing digital asset space,” as the announcement puts it.

While big news for Polkadot and Tether alike, the launch on DOT’s native blockchain is far from being the first move of this kind that Tether has made. The project has now officially live on dozen different chains, including Avalanche, Ethereum, Algorand, Liquid Network, Tron, Bitcoin Cash’s Standard Ledger Protocol, Kusama, Solana, EOS, Omni, Near, and now Polkadot.

Polkadot’s native cryptocurrency, DOT, has seen a slight surge after the news, which took it from $6.28 to $6.47 in only 12 hours. However, the token has started dropping again since, currently sitting at $6.43 at the time of writing, as the bear market is still holding the crypto industry strongly.

Polkadot’s community, however, does seem to be excited about the new move, with several members commenting that the integration will open p new possibilities and that Tether on Polkadot is the only way forward. And, while some have also inquired about adding USDC support, others have pointed out that the USDC stablecoin has seen some controversy that resulted in it being delisted from Binance and WazirX, so Polkadot definitely made the right decision by picking Tether.
