‘Security Tokens Realised’ Event in London Draws Mature Fintech Crowd

The inaugural edition of ”Security Tokens Realised, a two-day event that ran in London from January 23 – 24, brought together a diverse group of 300 attendees representing investors (60% of attendees were investors according to the event organizer), STOs, token exchanges, VC funds, banks, market makers, fintech media, and brokerage and custodial services.

The Tokenist reported a crowd characterized by mature fintech professionals, some from London’s close by financial district, there either to support the security token industry itself or out of curiosity about all the excitement around asset tokenization.

The event included an organized STO pitch session. However, as reported by SecurityToken.it, Security Tokens Realised, unlike numerous crypto conferences held during the ICO craze, was not crawling with founders pitching their project to anyone who would listen. The article’s author, Jochem Gerritse, opined, “Security Token Realised brought professionalism into this space.”

Speakers and discussions panels focused on ways that security tokens can bring liquidity and overhead cost reduction to capital markets, the benefits disintermediation, and the potential for the security token phenomenon to disrupt traditional finance models.

Top event sponsors included Luxembourg-based STO platform Tokeny, London-based security token exchange Archax, South Korea-based blockchain technology company Kodebox (developer of Codechain, a purpose-built blockchain for security tokens), Israel-based diamond exchange CEDEX, Hong Kong-based security token exchange Anxone, and London-based compliancy and regtech service provider Compliancy Services Ltd. Notably absent from the event were Neufund and Securitize.

Media partners included Cointelegraph and The Fintech Times. Cointelegraph live-streamed the event and The Fintech Times hosted the world’s first security token awards contest, the ‘STRealised Awards.’

Next up in the event series is Security Tokens Realised Asia in Hong Kong, June 11 – 12, 2019. To learn about more events, visit or STO Events page.

Fincross International

Fincross is a hybrid investment firm which covers both traditional and digital assets. The company has been a driving force behind further blockchain tech integration. Currently, the firm operates out of Mauritius where it is federally regulated. As a regulated institution, Fincross is able to provide clients with a broad range of exclusive products.

Speaking on the sponsorship, Fincross’ deputy CEO, Henry James, described the excitement surrounding the upcoming events. James took a moment to explain how his new platform serves a “diverse group of clients” ranging from huge international investment firms, down to individuals seeking more protections in the digital asset space.

New Age Banking

Fincross international combines traditional banking systems with new digital technologies. The company utilizes a purpose-built Distributed Bank Ledger (DBL) to provide clients with a more efficient and secure alternative to current options. Also, the platform merges the trading of traditional assets with tokenized digital assets.

Protecting Your Crypto

In addition to management and storage services, Fincross seeks to develop a crypto insurance platform to complement its existing system. Security Token Future Global Conference

On January 30, 2019 security token experts from across Asia converged in Singapore for the Security Token Future Conference. Here, industry leaders discussed the overall direction of the market including regulations, new use cases, and major players in the industry. By all accounts, the STO conference was a resounding success. Attendees of the conference could play a major role in guiding the Asian security token market.

Security Token Future Global Conference

The Security Token Future Global Conference featured a whos-who of the Asian security token sector.  The seminar included an open discussion panel. The panel consisted of some heavy crypto hitters such as Jack Chia (Blockchain Alliance), Nizam Ismail (RHTLaw), Edward Du (TALENTA), just to name a few. The one-day event also included several keynote speakers such as Nock Cowan (CEO GSX) and GITA Co-founder Mik Mironov.

The event sold out quickly. The venue was meant to accommodate only 300 people, but some exceptions were made for those that arrived after all the original seats were filled. The turnout demonstrates the growing importance of security tokens in the Asian market. Asia continues to dominate trading in the crypto sector. The introduction of security tokens is sure to expand the region’s influence.

The event was made possible through a collaborative effort. Goldensand Capital, TALENTA, GITA, SMC Capital hosted the event. There were also a number of well-known sponsors of the event. The cloud-based mining platform MaxiMine was one of the main sponsors which captured the attention and imagination of the attendees. Additionally, IDCM, DSX, Galaxa , and RHTLaw all contributed to make the event a huge success.

MaxiMine had the main booth at the event where they showcased their cloud-based mining platform. The firm utilizes a fully transparent and highly-efficient mining protocol to reward their pool members. Unlike traditional cloud mining platforms, users are rewarded with hashing power for staking their tokens.

Hashing Power Credit

The hashing power credit system utilized by the MaxiMine platform functions similarly to a Proof-of-Stake algorithm such as the one used by the crypto NEO. Mining pool participants earn MaxiMine Coins for participating. These tokens are what users stake to earn free hashing power. Mining pools allow anyone to begin mining cryptocurrencies. It’s nearly impossible to mine Bitcoin nowadays without joining one of these highly-productive mining pools.

More Coins – More Options

One of the best features of the MaxiMine platform is the ability to mine multiple types of crypto. This is an excellent feature because Bitcoin mining equipment utilizes special ASIC cards which are only able to mine coins that share Bitcoin’s SHA-256 algorithm. MaxiMine users can switch between a huge selection of cryptocurrencies without worrying about compatibility issues. This saves miners from having to purchase thousands in new mining equipment.

See Everyone Next Year

After such a great turnout, it’s no surprise that people want to know more about the next event. Events such as the Security Token Future Global Conference help to cultivate productive growth in the security token sector. Many in the cryptospace see security tokens as the logical next step in cryptocurrency adoption. These events help more people understand the importance of this revolutionary technology.

Security Token Summit - Brought to you by The Goren Holm Group.

Security Token Summit, LLC

As the world of blockchain continues to grow, so does the need/interest for specialized conferences. These events allow industry players to network and share ideas on where the industry is, where it should be, and the path to get there.

With that in mind, we have now seen the creation of the ‘Security Token Summit, LLC’. This is an event taking place in early April of 2019. It will see leaders within the digital securities sector gather, and discuss industry issues and solutions.

This event will be taking place at the Ritz-Carlton, in Los Angeles, California. It is being hosted by the Goren-Holm Group, and is a one day event, limited to 500 attendees.

For those interested in attending, check out the event site HERE.

Speakers

The agenda for the event indicates that it is anticipated that there will be 4 keynote speakers @ 30 minutes each. In addition, there will be 7 panels @ 45 minutes each.

While the list may grow, there is already an impressive line-up of people scheduled to speak at the conference. Listed alphabetically, here are those already confirmed to be speaking.

1.       Ami Ben David 2.       Tal Elyashiv 3.       Carlos Domingo 4.       Jamie Finn
5.       Jor Law 6.       David Weild 7.       Amy Wan 8.       Andrew Dix

This group of speakers boasts decades of experience within their respective fields, and should command an attentive audience.

There is clearly a strong influence on the part of Securitize, as the company sees all three of its cofounders (David, Domingo, Finn) speaking during the event. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as Securitize is one of the leading companies within the sector.

Advisory Group

A strong advisory group supports the organizers.  This group is populated by various industry leaders such as…

Ami Ben David

David Weild

  • Vice Chairman of NASDAQ

Jor Law

Crypto Invest Summit

It should be noted that this new event is being hosted by the creators of the wildly successful ‘Crypto Invest Summit’.

The last Crypto Invest Summit saw more than 4500 registrants, resulting in much of the event being standing-room only. With the shift in focus towards digital securities being seen as of late, it is reasonable to expect that Security Token Summit will be similar in popularity.

While Crypto Invest Summit focuses on cryptocurrencies at large, this new event will have a more ‘dialed-in’ perspective. Security Token Summit will concentrate more on issues unique to the sector such as custody, token standards, issuance, compliance, and more. If you missed this summit we will list future conferences on our STO Summit page.

Goren Holm Group

Josef Holm and Alon Goren founded the ‘Goren Holm Group’ a private equity firm.  In August of 2018, the group launch a new arm known as Goren Holm Ventures (GHV). This new branch was created with a specific focus on investments directly related to the development of the blockchain industry.
