Tereina, an SAP-backed financial services company, and Circle Internet (CRCL ) Group announced a partnership on 7. oktober 2026 to integrate Circle’s USDC and EURC stablecoins into Tereina’s payments infrastructure, starting with SAP Cloud ERP. The joint announcement, datelined Palo Alto, California and New York, states the integration is designed to let eligible businesses send and receive stablecoin payments without leaving the enterprise applications they already use. The announcement does not disclose financial terms of the partnership.

Under the arrangement, USDC will serve as the preferred stablecoin for eligible U.S. dollar-denominated payment workflows, while EURC will provide an option for euro-denominated activity, according to the announcement. The companies state the two digital currencies give participating businesses additional choice in how they move and settle value, with access to blockchain-based settlement and new options for managing global payments and treasury operations. Rather than requiring finance teams to introduce separate systems for stablecoin payments, the integration is intended to provide eligible businesses with a path to Circle’s stablecoin infrastructure from environments they already run. A footnote to the release notes that USDC and EURC are issued by regulated affiliates of Circle.

The integration is available to SAP customers through SAP Pay, the payment service embedded in SAP’s cloud ERP software. The announcement characterizes the SAP ecosystem as generating 84% of global commerce and describes the partnership as bringing digital currency infrastructure into an established enterprise payments environment at significant scale without requiring businesses to replace the applications at the center of their operations.

SAP Pay Mechanics and Availability

SAP detailed SAP Pay in its Connect 2026 Innovation News Guide, published 6. oktober 2026. SAP states it is entering the payment services market with SAP Pay, a payment service embedded directly into workflows in SAP Cloud ERP applications. When an invoice is approved in an SAP Cloud ERP application, SAP Pay automatically executes the payment and reconciles it against the corresponding invoice or purchase order, according to SAP, which states this removes manual bank file handling, external payment processing dependencies and reconciliation delays. The service supports payments via EFT, including ACH, as well as wire and check, and it supports stablecoin-based settlement for cross-border transactions. SAP states that payment processing, reconciliation, controls and auditability all occur within the ERP environment, and that SAP Pay is generally available now in the United States and United Kingdom.

The SAP guide identifies Tereina as a regulated payment-service provider founded in april 2026 as a wholly owned SAP subsidiary to enable SAP’s entry into the payments space, and states that SAP Pay is powered by Tereina. SAP also states that a global distributor of networking and wireless broadband solutions is already using SAP Pay to automate supplier and treasury payments.

Tereina’s Platform and Leadership

Tereina’s website describes a platform that embeds agentic payments into enterprise systems and integrates fiat and digital rails on a single platform. Supported workflows listed on the site include supplier payments, payroll disbursements, intercompany settlements and expense reimbursements, automated directly in SAP. The company claims a 25% reduction in total cost of ownership, a single KYC relationship covering every payment rail and corridor, and coverage of 223 countries and territories, with OFAC-sanctioned markets excluded. Tereina also states that setup takes less than eight hours, that a customer’s money can start flowing within a week, and that payments subsequently settle on demand rather than on a batch cycle.

The site names Winncom Technologies as a customer using Tereina natively in its public cloud ERP. Winncom chief financial officer Vladimir Fedoroff states on the site that the distributor has dealt with complicated payment and supplier processes throughout its history and that Tereina simplifies those processes while moving money when the business needs it. The page also cites figures it attributes to the AFP Survey 2025: 79% of organizations were targets of attempted payment fraud, 57% of treasury practitioners cite automating manual processes as a top challenge, and 51% identify improving payment processes as a key priority.

According to Tereina’s About page, the company is an SAP company whose name means “rails” in te reo Māori, the indigenous language of New Zealand, and whose EPIC acronym stands for Embedded Payments to Ignite Commerce. Co-founder and chief executive Cedric Bru is also CEO of Taulia, which SAP acquired in 2022.

The About page’s leadership roster also names co-founder and chief technology officer Brady Cale, who spent 11 years at Taulia, where he led the team that built its core supply chain finance product, and who led the integration of Taulia’s product and technology into the SAP ecosystem after the acquisition. Chief product officer Rajesh Venkatesh previously built product, design and data organizations at Nium and InstaReM, headed product management for GrabPay across Southeast Asia and spent eleven years at PayPal. Chief compliance officer Ben Duranske led compliance for Facebook Payments from its formation in 2010 and later for Apple’s financial services division. Head of sales Thomas Mehlkopf is also responsible for the go-to-market of SAP’s Treasury and Working Capital solutions.

In the announcement, Circle co-founder, chairman and CEO Jeremy Allaire said, “Stablecoins are increasingly becoming a core infrastructure layer for global commerce.” He described working with Tereina as an important step toward making internet-native money easier to integrate into everyday business operations. Bru said the partnership lets businesses adopt stablecoin payments without changing how they already operate, making “stablecoin payments become a native feature of the applications they already trust.”

Over the coming months, Tereina and Circle plan to conduct joint proof-of-value programs with customers, train treasury and payments specialists, and work with ecosystem partners to incorporate stablecoin-enabled payments into broader enterprise transformation initiatives, according to the release. The companies also intend to develop insights around real-world enterprise stablecoin adoption as implementations progress.

Circle describes its platform as including a stablecoin network anchored by USDC, the Circle Payments Network for global money movement, and Arc, an enterprise-grade blockchain.
