Securrency Pulls in $17.75M During Successful Series A

Securrency has just announced the successful completion of their Series A – marking a continuance of a recent trend among blockchain oriented companies.

The Details

This capital generation event will see the funds raised put to good use, as Securrency indicates that it is earmarked for, not only developing strategic partnerships, but the fine tuning of their suite of services, as well.

In total, Securrency raised $17.75M from 6 leading participants.  Those participants which believe in what Securrency is trying to achieve are as follows:

  • WisdomTree Investments
  • Abu Dhabi Investment Office
  • RRE Ventures
  • Strawberry Creek Ventures
  • Pantera Capital
  • Monex Group

Upon announcing the completion of this event, various representatives from each, Securrency and the six aforementioned companies, took the time to comment.  The following is what Securrency CEO, Dan Doney, had to say.

“Securrency recognized early on that global liquidity for digital securities will result from validated identity and multi-jurisdictional compliance, and that a convenient framework for universal interoperability would unlock the power of blockchain technology in the financial markets…We have been building over the past several years a unique framework that is not restricted to one blockchain or platform in order to allow for the remarkable innovations across this space to come together in a way that encourages the major institutions, market makers, and other market players to swiftly and confidently transition into this new technological paradigm.”

He then continued by commenting on the company which spearheaded the raise – WisdomTree.

“WisdomTree has a well-deserved reputation as an innovator within financial services, and we are thrilled to have them as our lead investor…WisdomTree has truly exciting applications for our technology. Our partnership with WisdomTree will allow us to demonstrate unique features of our technology, specifically our Compliance Aware Token framework and multi-ledger capabilities.”
