Mines of Dalarnia, a popular metaverse project that is building a Minecraft-inspired game where players can mine the land and harness its resources, recently published development plans for this summer. In their announcement, they revealed what kinds of things they will focus on throughout July and August, and why this is important for the project and its future.
What will happen to Mines of Dalarnia?
According to the announcement, the developers believe that July and August should be spent focusing on content updates meant to enhance security, integrity, and anti-botting technology. The devs noted that this includes things such as captchas, additional server-side validations, improved client security measures meant to catch and block botters, and alike.
All of these measures are necessary in order to ensure economic security and to boost the project’s multiplayer features. The announcement explained that the developers have been working on this technology for the last two months, and it will soon be ready to be implemented.
However, while security and anti-botting strategies will be the primary focus of the development team, that is not all that the devs plan to introduce. The announcement also mentions new content, including several Elite Armors, the expansion of the dig content variety, and like.
The security improvements will also lay the groundwork for future competitive and multiplayer features, such as leaderboard-style activities, shared space multiplayer, and more. So, while the upgrades that are about to come over the next month, or month and a half will be a bit content-light, they are only meant to lay the foundation upon which the devs will build new things down the road.
What is the plan for the future?
The devs also touched upon some of the plans that are meant to be executed in the future, such as ramping towards Depth 4 and the next full tier of resources and equipment, which will expand the variety and complexity within the game.
Furthermore, such future upgrades will improve plot diversity, allow for new ways for landowners to upgrade their plots and stand out, which will lead more miners to them, and alike. The goal of this is to increase avenues for all landowners by granting them ways to make their land more appealing to other players, even if the land was not initially generated with the rarest and most desirable resources.
However, the team once again noted that it is important for this new tier of content to come out in an environment where the overall security is greater, and the project’s bot resistance increased. In the long-term, this will result in a better economy for the game, which is what the devs are aiming at. Still, they noted that core resources will always have value, including Iron, Copper, Silver, as well as Ozy, which will always remain a part of the game — typically in large quantities, as they are necessary for crafting new items that the devs plan to introduce.
Finally, they hinted at many more existing features and developments that remain unannounced at this time, and that are not yet ready to be discussed. However, they are being developed, and they will come at some point.
