Launched in 2019, ChainGuardians is a gaming ecosystem that allows users to collect NFTs through a play-to-earn (P2E) model. The game itself takes place in 2073, where users (known as ChainGuardians) battle to defend the crypto-verse.
ChainGuardians notes that the current pay-to-win model used by most AAA games is a growing problem that hinders adoption. As such, it believes a play-to-earn model is the path forward. By adopting P2E, players are given the ability to earn in-game collectibles in the form of NFTs, which hold real-world value.
Underpinning the entire ChainGuardians ecosystem are CGG tokens. These ERC-20 tokens can be used to not only purchase and sell NFTs but can be staked for further rewards, and provide certain voting rights on ecosystem governance. Overall, the purpose of CGG is to encourage platform participation.
To date, ChainGuardians has managed to attain investments from companies like,
- Moonwhale Ventures
- Genblock Capital
- Skyvision Capital
The team behind the project is spearheaded by various professionals of unique backgrounds.
- Emma Liu – CEO
- Robbie Cochrane – COO
- Idon Liu – CTO
