CRISPR Therapeutics Q3 CASGEVY Revenue Reaches $99 Million

CRISPR Therapeutics (CRSP ) reported third-quarter 2026 results on November 2, 2026 for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, posting CASGEVY revenue of $99 million and a net loss of $111.4 million, compared with a $106.4 million loss a year earlier.
The company said CASGEVY revenue grew 30% quarter over quarter and reached nearly six times the third-quarter 2025 figure. More than 750 patients have initiated treatment worldwide. The therapy is approved in 39 countries across North America, Europe and the Middle East for eligible patients aged 12 and older, with approvals for younger children in five of those countries.
In July 2026, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved CASGEVY for children aged two and older with sickle cell disease or transfusion-dependent beta thalassemia. Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain also approved it for that age group, while the U.K. Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency approved it for children aged five and older with severe forms of those diseases.
Vertex Pharmaceuticals (VRTX ) leads global development, manufacturing and commercialization of CASGEVY and is its manufacturer and exclusive license holder. Vertex and CRISPR Therapeutics share profits and program costs on a 60/40 basis under their amended collaboration agreement.
CRISPR Therapeutics’ own total revenue was $12.669 million, including $12.323 million of collaboration revenue, compared with total revenue of $889,000 a year earlier. Basic and diluted net loss per share were each $1.15, versus $1.17 in the third quarter of 2025.
Research and development expense was $71.9 million, up from $58.9 million, primarily because of higher external research and development expenses and sublicense fees, partly offset by lower employee-related costs. Acquired in-process research and development expense was $11.7 million, primarily a development milestone under the Sirius agreement; no such expense was recognized in the prior-year quarter. Collaboration expense, net, fell to $41.3 million from $57.1 million, primarily because of an increase in the company’s share of CASGEVY revenue.
Cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities totaled $2.28 billion at September 30, compared with $1.98 billion at December 31, 2025. The increase was primarily driven by $585.4 million of net proceeds from convertible senior notes issued in March 2026, offset by operating expenses.
CTX310 And CTX611 Development
The FDA granted Regenerative Medicine Advanced Therapy designations to CTX310 for severe hypertriglyceridemia and for patients with elevated LDL-C. The designation carries the benefits of Fast Track and Breakthrough Therapy designations, including early FDA interactions and potential eligibility for priority review and accelerated approval. CTX310 targets angiopoietin-related protein 3, and its Phase 1 trial remains ongoing.
The company said Phase 1a durability data showed that a single course of CTX310 produced reductions sustained through one year of follow-up. At the highest dose, mean reductions from baseline were 79% in ANGPTL3, 48% in triglycerides and 53% in LDL-C in a mixed patient cohort with high triglycerides, high LDL-C or both. CTX310 was well tolerated, with no treatment-related serious adverse events.
The company said Phase 1b data in severe hypertriglyceridemia will be presented in a late-breaking oral session at the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions on November 9, 2026. Phase 1 data for zugocabtagene geleucel, or zugo-cel, in refractory systemic sclerosis will be presented at the American College of Rheumatology Convergence on November 8, 2026.
Enrollment is complete in the Phase 2 trial of CTX611, a long-acting small interfering RNA therapy targeting Factor XI, in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty. The company expects an update in the second half of 2026. CRISPR Therapeutics will lead global Phase 3 development, with Sirius Therapeutics overseeing development in greater China.
The release does not give a more specific date for that CTX611 update.
