Vylor Replaces Corteva in S&P 500 After Completed Spin-Off

S&P Dow Jones Indices announced on October 1, 2026 that Vylor Inc. was added to the S&P 500 that day, replacing Corteva Inc (CTVA ) after Corteva completed the spin-off of Vylor, and it set eleven further additions and deletions across the S&P 500, S&P MidCap 400 and S&P SmallCap 600 to take effect prior to the opening of trading on October 6, 2026.
The Vylor addition took effect on the date the spin-off transaction was completed, and Vylor replaces Corteva in the S&P 500. Vylor will have a Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS) change to Consumer Staples effective on October 6, 2026; the announcement’s summary table lists Vylor under Consumer Staples and the departing Corteva under Materials. S&P Dow Jones Indices stated that, post spin-off, Corteva “will be more representative of the mid-cap market space.”
Corteva’s Path to the Separation
Corteva’s investor-relations news listing shows the sequence of company disclosures leading to the separation. A September 14, 2026 release is titled Corteva Board of Directors Approves Vylor Distribution, and a September 25, 2026 release announced the effectiveness of Vylor’s Form 10 registration statement. On October 1, 2026, the day the spin-off was completed, the company published a release titled Corteva Begins New Chapter as Focused, Innovation-Led, Global Crop Protection Leader. The listing also includes September 2026 releases on a Vylor partnership with Rainbow Crops covering gene-edited corn traits and on a Vylor wheat technology launch planned for 2027.
October 6 Changes Across the Three Indices
In the S&P MidCap 400, Corteva will replace Olin Corp, and in the S&P SmallCap 600, Olin will replace Qorvo, Inc (QRVO ) (NASD: QRVO), both effective prior to the opening of trading on October 6, 2026. S&P Dow Jones Indices said S&P 500 constituent Skyworks Solutions Inc. (SWKS ) (NASD: SWKS) is acquiring Qorvo in a deal expected to be completed soon, pending final closing conditions.
Skyworks announced on September 30, 2026 that it had received all necessary regulatory clearances to proceed with the Qorvo transaction, and that the parties expect to close the mergers on or about October 5, 2026, subject to the satisfaction or waiver of the remaining customary closing conditions. Skyworks and Qorvo announced their agreement to combine in a cash-and-stock transaction on October 28, 2025, and Skyworks said the combination will create “a U.S.-based, global leader in high-performance radio frequency, analog and mixed-signal semiconductors.”
In connection with the transaction, Skyworks made offers to exchange any and all of the outstanding 4.375% Senior Notes due 2029 issued by Qorvo and any and all of the outstanding 3.375% Senior Notes due 2031 issued by Qorvo, in each case for new notes issued by Skyworks, together with related consent solicitations for proposed amendments to the applicable indenture governing each series of those Qorvo notes. The exchange offers were made under Skyworks’ registration statement on Form S-4, which was declared effective on May 29, 2026, and the related final prospectus filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on that date. Each exchange offer and consent solicitation is conditioned upon the closing of the mergers, a condition that may not be waived by Skyworks, while the closing of the mergers is not conditioned upon the results of the exchange offers and consent solicitations. Skyworks said the exchange offers were expected to expire at 5:00 p.m. New York City time on October 2, 2026, that it expects to pay the related consent payments concurrently with, or promptly following, the closing, and that it anticipates issuing a separate press release extending the expiration date to a date and time following the closing of the mergers.
In the second set of changes, S&P MidCap 400 constituent Twilio Inc. (TWLO ) will replace Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc. (NASD: WBD) in the S&P 500, S&P SmallCap 600 constituent Formfactor Inc. (NASD: FORM) will replace Twilio in the S&P MidCap 400, and Workiva Inc. (WK ) will replace Formfactor in the S&P SmallCap 600, all effective prior to the opening of trading on October 6, 2026. S&P Dow Jones Indices said S&P 500 constituent Paramount Skydance (PSKY ) Corp. (NASD: PSKY) is acquiring Warner Bros. Discovery in a deal expected to be completed soon, pending final closing conditions, and that post merger, Paramount Skydance will switch its primary listing to the NYSE.
The release’s summary table assigns GICS sectors to each constituent: Twilio, Formfactor, Workiva and Qorvo are listed under Information Technology, Corteva and Olin under Materials, Vylor under Consumer Staples and Warner Bros. Discovery under Communication Services. All of the changes take place prior to the open of trading on the effective date.
