PTC announced on October 15, 2026, that the United States Air Force has extended its use of the company’s Servigistics service supply chain optimization solution as part of the Enterprise Supply Chain Analysis, Planning, and Execution (ESCAPE) program. The Boston-based company said the renewal extends a nearly decade-long relationship focused on modernizing the Air Force service supply chain and improving aircraft and system readiness. The announcement did not disclose a contract value or term length for the renewal.

According to PTC, Servigistics optimizes service parts across a complex global supply network, transforms planning productivity through exception-based management, and applies AI-powered intelligence built on what the company describes as deep service supply chain expertise and proven optimization science. The Air Force first selected Servigistics in 2017 to transform service parts planning across its global supply chain, and the company states that use of the solution has since expanded to support more sophisticated planning and optimization requirements, consolidate legacy systems, and modernize its supply chain planning environment. Today, PTC says, Servigistics helps the Air Force align inventory and supply decisions with aircraft and system availability objectives by combining advanced forecasting, multi-echelon optimization, supply planning, machine learning, and artificial intelligence so that critical parts are available where and when they are needed.

“Readiness depends on our ability to anticipate requirements and make effective supply chain decisions in an increasingly complex operational environment,” said Abigail Strobell, Deputy Chief, U.S. Air Force, in the announcement. “Our continued use of Servigistics enables us to build on the progress we have made in modernizing service parts planning and strengthen the supply chain capabilities that support aircraft availability.”

PTC describes the renewal as the next phase of the program, stating that it creates opportunities to apply continued innovation in AI and exception-based management so that planners can identify emerging issues, evaluate alternatives, automate routine workflows, and focus expert attention on decisions that require intervention.

Program History Since 2017

The relationship began with a January 31, 2017, announcement that the Air Force had selected the PTC Service Parts Management (SPM) SaaS solution, part of the Servigistics suite of Service Lifecycle Management products, to deliver integrated supply chain planning and enhance weapon systems support at Air Force Sustainment Center locations around the globe. That release described the Air Force supply chain as one of the most complex in the world, with more than 5,000 aircraft and 650,000 items, supporting weapon systems in 1,500 locations across a global theatre of operations.

The 2017 announcement stated that the SaaS solution, delivered through the PTC Cloud in what the company described as a safe and reliable DoD-compliant environment, would enable the Air Force to improve demand forecast accuracy, reduce planning workload, implement comprehensive supply planning, achieve near real-time supply chain metrics, improve logistics cost estimation, and optimize aircraft availability by location. It listed five capability areas: Demand Planning, generating independent and dependent forecasts; Inventory Optimization, applying Readiness Based Sparing principles to reach specified weapon system availability while minimizing inventory investment; Supply Planning, correlating repair, purchase, and distribution orders with current or future demands; Exception Management, alerting users to pertinent information and recommending reconciliations within planner work queues; and Performance Management, providing analytics, metrics, reporting, and dashboarding for root-cause and what-if analyses.

In a January 18, 2022, announcement, PTC said the Air Force was expanding its use of the Servigistics Service Parts Management SaaS solution for ESCAPE under a five-year definitive contract consisting of a one-year base period and four one-year options, worth up to $95 million if all options were exercised. That release stated that the Air Force Sustainment Center’s 448th Supply Chain Management Wing, made up of 3,000 personnel supporting the service’s global readiness, is responsible for the ESCAPE program, and that the Air Force was using Servigistics as the sole-source provider to plan and optimize its $76 billion service parts supply chain tuned to asset availability. According to the 2022 release, Servigistics supports ESCAPE’s effort to modernize planning and forecasting, increase aircraft availability, and improve mission support functions while investing taxpayer funding in optimal parts inventory.

“The U.S. Air Force has one of the most sophisticated and complex service parts supply chain operations in the world,” Leslie Paulson, General Manager of PTC’s Servigistics Business Unit, said in the 2022 announcement.

Deployments Across Defense and Aerospace

The 2022 release stated that Servigistics carries FedRAMP-certified security and is deployed within the Air Force and Coast Guard and with original equipment manufacturers including Boeing, Lockheed Martin (LMT ), and Northrop Grumman (NOC ). In the 2017 release, PTC reported that the Coast Guard, using PTC Service Parts Management, had improved aircraft availability by 6%, reduced mission-incapable supply by 4%, improved on-time delivery by 40%, and achieved 91% service levels, and that the U.S. Navy was also using the solution.

PTC said the renewal fits its Intelligent Product Lifecycle vision, under which manufacturers build a modern product data foundation, extend that data across the enterprise, and unlock AI-powered transformation. The company stated that broader use of product data enables companies to bring higher-quality products to market faster, manage complexity at scale, and support new digital business models.
