Tokenized Fund Assets Top $1.2 Billion as WisdomTree Launches Onchain

WisdomTree, Inc. (WT ) introduced WisdomTree Onchain on September 29, 2026, bringing its tokenized funds, onchain infrastructure and platforms for individual and institutional investors under one name, and said assets across its tokenized fund ecosystem have surpassed $1.2 billion, up from approximately $770 million at the start of 2026.
The New York-based company said it offers the largest lineup of tokenized registered funds currently in the market, with 15 SEC-registered funds spanning money market, equity, fixed income, asset allocation and alternative strategies. The digital funds are available across eight public blockchains: Ethereum Mainnet, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Optimism, Plume, Solana and Stellar.
The ecosystem also includes 24/7 secondary market liquidity for the WisdomTree Treasury Money Market Digital Fund (WTGXX) through WisdomTree Securities, Inc., acting as a principal dealer and subject to available inventory and market conditions. The company said that liquidity was made possible by the first exemptive relief of its kind granted by the SEC to a registered fund.
Four Platforms Under One Brand
Alongside the tokenized funds, WisdomTree Onchain encompasses four platforms. WisdomTree Prime is a mobile app giving U.S. individual investors access to tokenized funds, yield and gold alongside stablecoin connectivity in a single onchain environment. WisdomTree Connect is a portal and API giving institutional clients and B2B2C distributors access to the tokenized fund lineup, with one onboarding across the full suite.
Onchain Transfer Agent is the infrastructure WisdomTree Transfers, Inc. uses to issue and service tokenized fund shares under an issuer-sponsored tokenization model. The fourth platform, Onchain Markets, is in development and builds on the secondary market liquidity WisdomTree Securities already provides as principal dealer for WTGXX, with the stated goal of extending the same model to additional tokenized fund types, including ETFs. The company cautioned that potential products and services, including those via Onchain Markets, along with launch timing and associated fees, are in development, may change or may never become available, including due to regulatory considerations.
Use Cases, Distribution and Strategic Investments
Stablecoin issuers can hold reserves in WTGXX, a Rule 2a-7 fund the company described as designed to meet the reserve asset requirements of the GENIUS Act, with 24/7, commission-free secondary market liquidity to USDC through WisdomTree Securities acting as principal dealer, again subject to available inventory and market conditions. Treasury teams can use the same fund for operating cash, earning income the company said is continuously allocated based on intra-day holding duration and settling near-instantly onchain, weekends included. The announcement defines “instant” or “near instant” as settlement that occurs following order execution and onchain confirmation, rather than through traditional end-of-day or T+1 settlement cycles.
Onchain asset allocators can build diversified portfolios across equities, fixed income, alternatives and cash entirely onchain through one onboarding, while qualified custodians, fintechs and wallet providers can integrate the funds through the WisdomTree Connect API, for which WisdomTree has published developer documentation covering onboarding, subscription, redemption and reporting. Institutions are exploring how WTGXX can improve collateral mobility by moving between permissioned wallets around the clock rather than on banking-hours rails, according to the announcement. WisdomTree also said it supports other registered fund issuers seeking to bring their own funds onchain through the Onchain Transfer Agent and, once launched, Onchain Markets.
“Eight years ago, we asked how we could disrupt asset management, similar to how ETFs disrupted mutual funds. Tokenization was the answer, and we built toward it fund by fund, use case by use case,” said Jonathan Steinberg, founder and CEO of WisdomTree. He described WisdomTree Onchain as a cohesive ecosystem for moving real-world assets onto public blockchains and said the company believes everything in financial services will eventually be onchain.
Will Peck, Head of WisdomTree Onchain, said the evolution signifies the firm’s commitment to investors in the space and the breadth of the platform. “Just as crossing the billion-dollar milestone is an important marker of our progress, so is the engagement we’ve had with clients and collaborators as we work together to build this industry,” Peck said. He added that access, transparency and user experience matter to investors, and that the combination of infrastructure and registered funds can better serve individuals and institutions across use cases and, potentially, on a global scale.
The announcement listed milestones from the past year, including the launch of the 24/7 dealer-principal secondary market liquidity for WTGXX, continued exploration of issuer-sponsored tokenization for ETFs building on what the company described as its 20-year history as an ETF pioneer, and the increase in tokenized assets under management from approximately $770 million at the start of 2026 to more than $1.2 billion. WisdomTree also collaborated with MoonPay to bring WTGXX to eligible U.S. investors through MoonPay’s platform, which the announcement said serves more than 35 million accounts globally, and expanded its work with Stable Sea to bring additional tokenized funds into onchain treasury management for businesses.
Distribution relationships across the tokenized fund ecosystem now include HashKey, a Hong Kong-based broker-dealer; Marketnode, described as WisdomTree’s first Singapore-based broker-dealer distributor for tokenized funds in the Asia-Pacific region; and Synthesys, a Singapore-based tokenization infrastructure provider with broker-dealer capabilities. WisdomTree also led a $136 million Series C investment in Fnality International alongside other major financial institutions, joined a 21-member consortium of global banks and financial institutions to develop a regulated, USD-denominated stablecoin, and hired John Whelan as Head of Strategy, Digital Assets.
WisdomTree Connect and WisdomTree Prime services are made available through WisdomTree Digital Movement, Inc., a federally registered money services business and state-licensed money transmitter (NMLS ID: 2372500), or WisdomTree Digital Trust Company, LLC, which is chartered as a limited purpose trust company by the New York State Department of Financial Services to engage in virtual currency business. WisdomTree Digital Funds are distributed by WisdomTree Securities, Inc., a FINRA member. The company noted that principal-dealer liquidity is subject to inventory and market conditions, that trading availability is not guaranteed and may be paused, limited or discontinued at any time, and that those limits do not restrict the ability to purchase or redeem shares directly with the fund.
WisdomTree said it currently has approximately $176.9 billion in assets under management globally, inclusive of assets managed by Ceres Partners, LLC as of the last reportable period, and that its acquisition of Ceres Partners’ U.S. farmland platform expanded its capabilities in private markets.
