Lilly and Hims & Hers Formalize Self-Pay Obesity Drug Access

Eli Lilly and Hims & Hers announced an agreement on November 6, 2026 to expand access to Zepbound and Foundayo through the Hims & Hers platform. Eligible patients prescribed either medicine by a licensed provider on the platform will have access to self-pay pricing starting at $149 per month for Foundayo and $299 per month for Zepbound.
The prices are not exclusive to Hims & Hers. Eligible patients will receive the same self-pay prices available to any patient, but without leaving the platform. The pathway combines a consultation, a prescription when the provider determines it is appropriate, and direct home shipment of the FDA-approved Lilly medicine in one experience.
Foundayo (orforglipron) is Lilly’s daily oral obesity medicine, while Zepbound (tirzepatide) is an injectable medicine used once weekly. Both are used with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity to help adults with obesity, or some adults with overweight who also have weight-related medical problems, lose excess body weight and keep it off. Zepbound is also indicated to improve moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea in adults with obesity.
“At Lilly, we are always looking for new ways to help more people get the medicines they need, and that means meeting patients where they already are,” said Ilya Yuffa, executive vice president and president of Lilly USA and Global Customer Capabilities. Lilly said adults with obesity have shown strong and growing interest in receiving care, including prescription medicines, through telehealth providers, especially as a broader range of FDA-approved GLP-1 treatments has become available.
Care and Prescribing Commitments
Hims & Hers’ technology platform supports provider outreach, follow-up care and treatment planning. Its weight-loss membership includes 24/7 access to a care team, nutrition guidance, regular clinical check-ins and access to the Hims & Hers Weight Loss community. The agreement therefore connects drug fulfillment to an existing support structure rather than limiting the patient interaction to a single consultation.
The companies committed to protecting independent clinical decision-making, so providers on the platform continue to prescribe the treatment they determine is right for each patient. They also said Hims & Hers has never offered access to compounded copies of Lilly’s GLP-1 medicines and has committed not to do so in the future.
What Changed From April
The agreement formalizes an access route that Hims & Hers previously offered without a Lilly partnership. On April 23, 2026, Hims & Hers announced that providers on its platform could send prescriptions for Zepbound vials and KwikPen, as well as Foundayo, to the LillyDirect pharmacy and access self-pay pricing for Hims & Hers customers. The functionality supported providers delivering ongoing care in prescribing medicines fulfilled by independent pharmacies.
The April announcement expressly stated that access to Zepbound and Foundayo did not imply a partnership or affiliation with Lilly. It also said any licensed healthcare provider could prescribe to a LillyDirect pharmacy and that Hims, Inc. was not affiliated with or endorsed by Lilly.
The November development is therefore the formal company-to-company agreement and its integrated consultation-to-home-delivery pathway, not the first availability of LillyDirect prescription routing. Its significance is operational rather than clinical: it integrates an existing self-pay route while leaving decisions about whether and what to prescribe with licensed providers.
