Kratos Wins Over $100 Million in Space and Cyber Contracts

In an October 5, 2026 news release, Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (KTOS ), a technology company in defense, national security and global markets, announced multiple contract awards totaling over $100 million to develop prototype mission applications and cyber capabilities that provide space intelligence data in support of joint operations across the space and cyberspace domains.
Work under the contracts will provide warfighters with capabilities to collect and process complex radio frequency (RF) signals, develop intelligence on the operational environment and support the joint targeting cycle, the process used to identify, prioritize and target assets, according to the release. The prototype systems will support electronic warfare and offensive cyber operations, including capabilities for access and battle damage assessment.
The work leverages the KnownSpace Network, Kratos’ global RF collection infrastructure consisting of more than 190 strategically placed sensors around the world, along with RF data and capabilities provided by KnownSpace Recon+, the company’s field-portable space domain awareness (SDA) terminals. The contracts will also leverage Kratos’ software products, analytics and expertise in RF, signal processing, cybersecurity and software development, establishing what the release describes as a proven technology base that can be adapted and integrated to meet emerging space and cyber mission requirements.
“Kratos brings decades of space experience together with proven commercial technology and agile engineering to solve some of today’s most complex mission challenges,” said Greg Caicedo, Senior Vice President at Kratos. Caicedo said the company’s systems, software and hardware support missions across SDA, command and control, satellite operations and cybersecurity, and that by building on proven technology and rapidly adapting it to emerging mission needs, Kratos can deliver new capabilities faster as the space environment changes.
KnownSpace Network and Prior SDA Awards
The KnownSpace family of SDA products and services supporting the awards provides insights for global, sovereign and tactical operations, according to the release. Built on more than 30 years of satellite monitoring and RF expertise, the family combines global RF sensing, software, managed operations and deployable systems to detect, characterize and understand satellite and terrestrial activity. Solutions include enterprise software applications, portable form factors that can be deployed anywhere, and persistent global RF signal monitoring and geolocation. Kratos describes the KnownSpace Network of over 20 locations and 190 sensors worldwide as the largest commercially owned, commercially operated (COCO) RF sensor network.
The company’s space domain awareness product page describes the Global RF Sensor Network as Kratos-owned and operated, with more than 190 RF sensors worldwide across 20 sites, 360-degree GEO belt coverage and a 24/7 Network Operations Center in Colorado Springs. The page lists publicly releasable prior programs, including approximately $46 million in awards to support space domain awareness efforts, presented with a statement from Phil Carrai, President of Kratos’ Space, Training and Cybersecurity Division. Kratos has also previously announced an expansion of its global SDA network with new capabilities in India to support sovereign monitoring needs, and SDA services using passive RF ranging to assess spacecraft orbiting in close proximity to each other, according to the page.
Kratos stated that, due to security related, competitive and other considerations, no additional information on the new awards will be provided.
Government Solutions Segment and Backlog
The Space, Training and Cyber business sits within the Kratos Government Solutions (KGS) segment. In its second quarter 2026 results release dated August 4, 2026, Kratos reported revenues of $458.8 million, up 30.5 percent from $351.5 million in the second quarter of 2025, with 19.1 percent organic growth. KGS reported revenues of $379.7 million, up 36.4 percent from $278.3 million in the second quarter of 2025, with 22.0 percent organic growth excluding the impact of the Nomad Global Communication Solutions and Orbit Technologies Ltd acquisitions. Within KGS, the Space, Training and Cyber business posted organic revenue growth of 8.7 percent over the second quarter of 2025, while the Defense Rocket Systems, Turbine Technologies and Microwave Products businesses grew 50.2 percent, 43.3 percent and 29.5 percent organically, respectively.
KGS total backlog was $1.710 billion at June 28, 2026, compared with $1.676 billion at the end of the first quarter of 2026. Consolidated backlog stood at $2.084 billion on June 28, 2026, including funded backlog of $1.572 billion and unfunded backlog of $512.7 million, and the bid and proposal pipeline was $15.0 billion, compared with $14.3 billion on March 29, 2026. Consolidated bookings were $492.2 million for the second quarter of 2026 and $1.990 billion for the twelve months ended June 28, 2026, for book-to-bill ratios of 1.1 to 1.0 and 1.3 to 1.0, respectively. Kratos defines book-to-bill as bookings or contract awards in a period divided by revenues recorded for the same period.
In the August 2026 release, Kratos increased its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to a range of $1.750 billion to $1.810 billion, with forecast organic revenue growth of approximately 18 percent to 23 percent compared with full-year 2025. The company said it expects to provide initial full-year 2027 financial guidance when it reports third quarter fiscal 2026 results.
