PancakeSwap is a Binance Smart Chain-powered DEX and AMM that allows anyone to swap BEP-20 tokens efficiently and safely. The platform is comparable to Uniswap in that it provides a decentralized trading experience combined with liquidity pools. PancakeSwap is the largest Dapp on the Binance Smart Chain and is seen by many as a project with endless potential. As such, the platform is very popular and currently has $4,720,303,152 in locked liquidity at this time. To learn more visit our Investing in PancakeSwap guide.
Since this project takes advantage of the Binance Smart Chain-powered DEX and AMM, there is no real logical alternative but to buy this token directly on Binance.
Binance
Binance is one of the largest and most well-known cryptocurrency exchanges in the world. The benefits of purchasing PancakeSwap (CAKE) here is that you benefit from the lower exchange fees than competing exchanges, and the increased liquidity enables you to buy and sell quickly to take advantage of market moving news.

Gate.io
Gate.io was established in 2013, while it is not one of the most popular exchanges, they do offer a reputable trading platform with an easy to use interface for beginners while still maintaining robust and advanced charts for various types of skill levels including technical traders. They have a large number of altcoins including PancakeSwap (CAKE). While we do have some concerns with trustworthiness (please see review) they do have a strong stance against any type of market manipulation.

PancakeSwap
PancakeSwap is a decentralized exchange for swapping tokens on Binance Smart Chain. PancakeSwap uses an automated market maker (AMM) model where users trade against a liquidity pool. While this is obviously a good option to purchase PancakeSwap (CAKE) we only recommend this platform for advanced users, due to the fact that this is exchange is decentralized, meaning there is almost zero recourse should you make an error. The interface and terminology on the website are also confusing and not for the faint of heart. If you simply wish to buy PancakeSwap (CAKE) as an investment than we recommend Binance.
