CME Group Plans Bitcoin Cash, Uniswap Futures Launch for October 19

CME Group announced on September 22, 2026, that it will launch Bitcoin Cash (BCH ) (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI ) (UNI) futures on October 19, 2026, pending regulatory review, adding the two tokens to its single-asset cryptocurrency derivatives suite.
Market participants will have the choice to trade both larger- and Micro-sized contracts on each asset. Bitcoin Cash futures will be sized at 250 BCH per contract and Micro Bitcoin Cash futures at 25 BCH, while Uniswap futures will be sized at 10,000 UNI per contract and Micro Uniswap futures at 1,000 UNI.
The Chicago-based exchange operator said the expansion responds to strong client demand for institutional-grade risk management tools across high-liquidity altcoin markets.
Giovanni Vicioso, Global Head of Cryptocurrency Products at CME Group, said that as crypto markets continue to mature, participants require broader, regulated tools to navigate evolving digital asset related price risk. “Designed for greater versatility and capital efficiency, these new BCH and UNI contracts allow clients to manage price risk and gain exposure to key crypto networks within our 24/7, regulated marketplace,” he said.
Justin Young, CEO and Co-Founder of Volatility Shares, said the addition marks another step in the continued expansion of CME Group’s crypto futures offering. “It gives market participants more ways to access these assets within a regulated futures framework, while providing additional tools to manage risk and express market views,” he said. He added that his firm is excited to see the continued growth of the offering and pleased to be part of it.
Noel Kimmel, President at Ripple Prime, said institutions managing cryptocurrency exposure need around-the-clock access to regulated derivatives, underpinned by the clearing and financing infrastructure to match. With Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures joining the existing set of XRP, Bitcoin (BTC ) and other products, he said, CME Group’s cryptocurrency complex continues to lead the way in delivering capital-efficient risk management tools for market participants.
Contract Terms and Trading Codes
A dedicated CME Group product page for the new markets lists the contracts as coming October 19, with a footnote that the launch is pending regulatory review. Bitcoin Cash futures will trade under the ticker BCA and Micro Bitcoin Cash futures under MCH, while Uniswap futures will use the ticker UNI and Micro Uniswap futures the ticker MUN.
Each contract is also assigned a Basis Trade at Index Close (BTIC) code: BCB for Bitcoin Cash futures, BMC for Micro Bitcoin Cash futures, BUN for Uniswap futures and BMU for Micro Uniswap futures. All of the new contracts are block-eligible, according to the page.
CME Group describes the contracts as designed for price discovery and risk management within a 24/7, CFTC-regulated marketplace. The page presents the listings as broadening product choice with capital-efficient BCH and UNI exposure, highlights Micro-sized contracts as a way to fine-tune exposure, manage risk with precision and scale positions, and points to potential margin offsets across the company’s Cryptocurrency product suite. It also links to the exchange’s existing crypto futures and options and Micro crypto futures and options resources, along with a frequently asked questions page covering eligibility, settlement and the full suite of crypto futures.
Existing Crypto Suite and Reported Activity
The new contracts extend a single-asset Cryptocurrency product suite that already includes Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, Solana (SOL ), Cardano (ADA ), Chainlink (LINK ), Stellar, Avalanche and Sui futures.
Across that suite, the company reported first-half 2026 futures and options average daily volume of 279,800 contracts, representing $8.3 billion in notional value, and average open interest of 264,600 contracts, representing $15.4 billion in notional value. The company presented the figures as trading highlights for the cryptocurrency suite.
CME Group also said its 2026 expansion into Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche and Sui futures has contributed more than $1 billion in total notional value year-to-date.
The Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures are listed on and subject to the rules of CME.
