55ip Brings ActiveTax Technology to Claude for Financial Advisors

J.P. Morgan Asset Management announced on October 27, 2026 that 55ip, its wholly-owned subsidiary, will bring its proprietary ActiveTax Technology into Claude for Financial Advisors through a new connector.
Claude for Financial Advisors is Anthropic’s suite of connectors and workflow skills designed to support financial advisors with research, meeting preparation, compliance checks, and documentation. According to the announcement, advisors using the suite will now be able to incorporate tax-aware portfolio transition analysis powered by 55ip’s integrated tax-smart technology. 55ip’s platform features tax-aware personalization through a variety of strategy types, including models, SMAs, Direct Indexing and Unified Managed Accounts.
The announcement states that by bringing tax-smart capabilities into that environment, J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s 55ip expects to help advisors prepare for client conversations where tax considerations may be relevant, using Claude’s workflow orientation, and generate personalized tax-transition scenarios that illustrate the impact of different realized capital gain levels based on each client’s preferences. Advisors can run the personalized, tax-aware transition scenarios in-workflow, and J.P. Morgan will deliver more capabilities through the connector in the future.
“55ip has always focused on meeting advisors where they do business. This has been a key tenet of our approach in serving RIAs, broker-dealers, and large wealth management firms,” stated Gautam Sachdev, Chief Executive Officer of 55ip. Sachdev described the firm’s work with Anthropic as a continuing commitment to that approach as advisors adopt AI for more efficient and sophisticated workflows.
George C. W. Gatch, Chief Executive Officer of J.P. Morgan Asset Management, said AI is rapidly reshaping how advisors connect with clients, asset managers, and service providers. “This is only the start of our work to deliver our industry-leading investment insights and portfolio tools to advisors through AI,” Gatch said.
Jed Laskowitz, J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s Global Head of Private Markets and Customized Solutions, said advisors want advanced capabilities that fit naturally into their day-to-day workflow, and that bringing 55ip’s tax-smart technology into Claude for Financial Advisors embeds tax-aware analysis into the advisor experience in real time, supporting what he described as a more responsive, personalized client experience.
Firm Scale and Structure
55ip’s platform offers financial advisors tax-smart solutions across models, SMAs, direct indexing, and UMAs. The firm reported that its AUS has grown to over $150 billion as of September 30, 2026, and said it continues to expand its partnerships with wirehouses, broker-dealers, national RIAs, and investment platforms.
J.P. Morgan Asset Management reported assets under management of $4.8 trillion as of September 30, 2026. 55ip is the marketing name used by 55 Institutional Partners, LLC, an investment technology developer, and for investment advisory services provided by 55I, LLC, an SEC-registered investment adviser. The business is part of J.P. Morgan Asset Management, the brand for the asset management business of JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM.USD.SW ) and its affiliates worldwide. The release also discloses that JPMorganChase is an investor in Anthropic.
Claude for Financial Advisors
Anthropic released Claude for Financial Advisors on September 14, 2026, describing it as a suite of connectors and workflow skills designed to help with the research, preparation, and documentation tasks that occupy an advisor’s time. Anthropic said the connectors let Claude access the custodians, asset managers, and wealth technology providers advisors rely on, while skills use that information to help with specific tasks such as meeting preparation, portfolio analysis, and compliance checks.
Anthropic’s launch post listed J.P. Morgan Asset Management (55ip) among the suite’s connectors, stating that it extends tax transition technology to Claude so advisors can evaluate the tax impact of moving a client’s holdings into a new portfolio. Other connectors named in the post include Charles Schwab (SCHW ), which connects Claude to Schwab Advisor Services custodial data including balances, positions, transactions, cost basis, alerts, and money-movement status; BlackRock, through its Advisor Center; and Addepar, CAIS, Conquest Planning, Envestnet, FactSet, Franklin Templeton, iCapital, Invesco, MSCI, Orion, SS&C Black Diamond, Vanguard, Wealthbox, and Wealth.com.
Skills bundled in the Claude for Financial Advisors plugin cover pre-meeting preparation, an estate and tax brief, portfolio rebalance review, post-meeting notes and follow-up, prospect intake, advisor onboarding, an alternative investments brief, and compliance and AI policy checks. Anthropic states that the product is designed so the advisor stays in control, with approval required on critical tasks, and that investment recommendations, client communications, compliance determinations, and other regulated activities remain subject to human review and approval. The compliance skill screens client-facing language against the SEC Marketing Rule to flag potential issues, Anthropic said.
Anthropic said the advisor plugin was available at launch, and it recommends its Enterprise plans for registered investment advisers because the plans include the audit logs that support recordkeeping.
