Vertiv Closes Purchase of Dublin-Based King Environmental Services

Vertiv Holdings Co announced on October 26, 2026 that it has completed its acquisition of King Environmental Services Ltd., a Europe-based provider of fluid management, commissioning and load-testing services for high-density, liquid-cooled data centers. Vertiv, which trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol VRT and describes itself as a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, said the financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed and are not expected to be material to its financial results.
According to Vertiv, the acquisition expands its global thermal management services capabilities into Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and advances its strategy to support customers across the thermal chain. The company said the transaction builds on its established North American fluid management presence, including its 2025 acquisition of PurgeRite, and represents the next step in expanding its global thermal and fluid management services platform. Vertiv characterized the deal as expanding its leadership in next-generation thermal services for high-density and AI-driven environments into the EMEA region.
“We are pleased to welcome the KES team to Vertiv,” said Giordano Albertazzi, chief executive officer of Vertiv. “As computing density increases, the performance of cooling infrastructure depends not only on engineering and system design but on execution in the field. KES builds on the Vertiv fluid management foundation, extending our specialized expertise and disciplined execution into EMEA as customers deploy increasingly complex infrastructure at scale.”
Vertiv said the combination expands its end-to-end thermal management capabilities, which the company said enable customers to reduce operational complexity by working with a single accountable partner for commissioning, testing, fluid management and ongoing operations. According to Vertiv, the combined offering is also intended to improve cooling system performance through clean, balanced and validated fluid systems that support optimal heat transfer and equipment efficiency; to maintain compliance with regional fluid handling, treatment and disposal requirements; and to increase confidence in infrastructure readiness through thermal load testing before facilities enter operation.
KES is headquartered near Dublin, Ireland, and serves customers across the EMEA region.
Agreement Announced in September
Vertiv announced its agreement to acquire Ireland’s King Environmental Services on September 24, 2026, stating then that it expected the transaction to close in the fourth quarter of 2026 and that the terms, which were likewise not disclosed, were not expected to be material to its financial results. In that announcement, Albertazzi said the company’s December 2025 acquisition of PurgeRite “established an important fluid management foundation in North America,” adding that KES was expected to build on that foundation in EMEA.
The September announcement also described the operational rationale behind the transaction. Vertiv said that as high-performance computing and AI workloads increase heat densities and accelerate the adoption of liquid cooling, fluid quality is critical to uptime, thermal performance and equipment life. According to the company, contamination, trapped air, corrosion, improper chemistry and flow imbalances in these systems can reduce heat-transfer efficiency, contribute to equipment degradation and create commissioning and operational risks. Vertiv said that beyond initial commissioning, customers need lifecycle fluid management services to support system availability, thermal performance, equipment longevity and operational economics.
At the time of the September agreement, Vertiv said KES had built a strong reputation in Europe based on its technical specialization, experienced field teams, established operating infrastructure and safety culture, with capabilities spanning fluid-system preparation, flushing, filtration, water treatment, commissioning and performance validation, as well as thermal load testing for liquid cooling infrastructure and electrical load testing for critical power systems. Vertiv said KES adds specialized fluid management, commissioning and load-testing capabilities spanning system preparation, performance validation, monitoring, maintenance and lifecycle optimization, and that combining KES’s regional field expertise and load-testing capabilities with its broader services portfolio was expected to provide more comprehensive support as customers deploy and operate complex AI and high-density infrastructure with greater reliability, efficiency and accountability.
